Are your typists medically trained?

Our typists are specialist medical transcriptionists with extensive experience in clinical and medico-legal terminology. They are not clinicians, but they work exclusively in medical and medico-legal documentation and understand the precision and formatting standards the work demands.

How is my audio handled securely?

Audio files are uploaded through your dedicated OutSec File Manager, which uses encrypted transfer. Completed transcripts are returned to the same secure system. We operate in full compliance with UK GDPR and NHS data protection standards. Audio files are not stored beyond the agreed period and are never shared with third parties.

What happens if my usual typist is unavailable?

Every client account has a dedicated primary typist and at least one trained backup. The backup typist is familiar with your preferences, templates, and terminology before they are ever needed. You will not notice the difference in quality or turnaround.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No. OutSec Medical operates on a pay-as-you-go basis. You pay only for the audio minutes you record. There is no minimum commitment, no setup fee, and no monthly charge. You can scale up during busy periods and step back when workload is lighter.

How quickly can I get started?

Most clients are set up and receiving completed transcripts within 24 hours of their first contact with us. The process involves a brief conversation to understand your workflow and preferences, followed by access to the File Manager and the free OutSec Speak App.

Do you work with NHS as well as private practice?

Yes. We support clinicians in both NHS and private practice settings. Our service is particularly useful for consultants who hold both NHS and private commitments, where the volume and variety of documentation can be significant.
